Well the first members meeting has been and gone 🙂 From the feedback we’ve received so far Luke’s Introduction to Smallholding went down well and a lot was learned. It was an interactive session where questions were answered in the round and we all threw our thoughts into the mix; and very importantly we now all now how to keep our Vets happy !
Luke kindly then gave us a tour of the new Animal Management facility that was handed over this summer and Luke and the team at Merrist Wood are working hard to get it all finished. We were all really impressed with the progress to date.
The one thing the SSA team forgot to do was to take a photo of Luke in action, however they did think to take some selfies of the new SSA mascot; Scratchy the Meerkat!
Our next Members evening will take place on Wednesday 18th November in the Animal Management Centre, Merrist Wood, Holly Lane, Worplesdon, Surrey. We’ll be around from 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start. The topic of this talk will be Breeding your Sheep and will be hosted by Ed Archer. We look forward to seeing you then.
